GILT AWARDED TWO STARS BY MICHELIN GUIDE 2010

October, 2009

For the Second Year in a Row the Acclaimed New York Restaurant Takes Home Two-Star Honors

New York, NY (October 5, 2009) - For the second consecutive year GILT, the acclaimed restaurant at The New York Palace, one of the Dorchester Collection, has been awarded two stars from the New York City MICHELIN Guide. Announced today, MICHELIN identifies a total of 42 starred restaurants in its New York edition with just seven holding a two-star rating.

Executive Chef Justin Bogle is thrilled about GILT retaining its two stars, saying, "Our team at GILT has worked incredibly hard this past year to ensure guests walk away with the most memorable of dining experiences.  It's such an honor to be included among a prestigious group of New York chefs and restaurants." At 28, Bogle is the youngest chef in New York to ever receive two-stars from the New York MICHELIN Guide. He continues to bring his enthusiasm and culinary perspective to the forefront of his celebrated restaurant.

Rounding out the award-winning culinary team is Executive Pastry Chef David Carmichael who complements Bogle's savories with his vibrant and inventive style. Wine Director Patrick Cappiello continues to navigate GILT's generous wine list while showcasing his affinity for decanting. The front-of-the-house team is led by Restaurant Director Christopher Day who has also built one of the most ambitious restaurant tea programs in the country, offering 65 selections and a wide variety of seasonal and limited offerings.

GILT's two-star accolade reaffirms the restaurant as one of the country's top culinary experiences. The MICHELIN Guide, a prestigious 100-year-old restaurant ratings system from France, is widely considered the bible of gastronomy for foodies. This selection is determined by anonymous evaluations by trained inspectors following established, international standards in place for more than a century.*

The Dining Room at GILT is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday, with seating starting at 5:30 pm. A three-course prix-fixe dinner is offered for $89, and a five-course tasting menu is available for $110 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday, and 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Friday through Saturday. GILT Bar is open seven nights a week starting at 5:00 pm. GILT is located at The New York Palace at 455 Madison Avenue, New York, New York.  For reservations or more information, please call (212) 891-8100 or visit www.giltnewyork.com.
