David Carmichael

Named as one of the nation's top ten pastry chefs in 2004 by both Chocolatier Magazine and Pastry Art & Design Magazine, Carmichael brings his vibrant and inventive style to Gilt.

A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, and a winner of Patisfrance's U.S. Pastry Competition Award for Outstanding Taste in 1998, David Carmichael has worked in renowned Manhattan restaurants such as Daniel, Le Bernardin, Lutece, and Oceana throughout the course of his career. During his ten years at Oceana, Executive Pastry Chef Carmichael has also made numerous television appearances on The Today Show, including baking the cake for Katie Couric's last show as co-anchor, in addition to segments on the Food Network and the Rosie O'Donnell Show.
